Project: FUCHEBOL Type Family
FUCHEBOL is a display type family inspired by global football ephemera, retro jerseys, iconic players, and the sport’s cultural moments. From watching El Clásico on TV, the first women’s professional game I attended, to the Ronaldinho poster I preserved as a kid — FUCHEBOL became the embodiment of those influences. The ever-changing visual language I’ve experienced as a lifetime football player informed the design.
The cuts are the core of the design, in order to create white space and visual balance within the letterforms. As a player, you look for gaps and space on the field to read the game. The letterforms are rigid and modular to reflect the strategic formations and organized systems in which football teams play.
FUCHEBOL is intended for use at medium to large sizes: in jerseys, match-day graphics, tickets, and media pamphlets. Anything on or off the field that may need text! This type family comprises four styles: Light, Regular, Oblique, and Heavy.
